Well, I guess we can now reveal what Nike has been up to instead of releasing special Jeremy Lin shoes.

Yesterday, in advance of the rapidly approaching London Olympics, Nike released an ultra-light shoe, the Nike Flyknit. the new Nike shoe is virtually seamless and, according to Nike, "redefines the idea of running footwear". If one looks at the Flyknit Racer, the entire show weighs a mere 160g.

Converse Chuck Taylor Shoes a Hit in China

I visited Shanghai in 2005 and must confess I was too impressed with the amazing buildings to notice what people were wearing on their feet. Turns out that, if I had just paid more attention, I would have noticed an abundance of Converse Chuck Taylor footwear.

These shoes were originally made in 1917 in Massachusetts and are now something of a cool item for the younger Shanghai set. In fact, in 2011, no fewer than 5 million pairs were snapped up in China. And that's ignoring the fakes.

I guess there is never a dull news day in the shoe size conversion space. The story to catch my eye this evening was, believe it or not, a stampede in a Maryland mall of over 100 people aiming to get their hands on the new Nike Foamposite trainers. The local Footlocker branch had obtained a small stock of the scare new shoe and people began queuing from the early morning. New Adidas Shoes | Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard

Adidas has some news on the shoe front. Top NBA stars Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard are releasing new branded Adidas shoes to co-incide with the NBA All-Star contest later this month in Orlando. The Adidas adiPower Howard 2 joins the adidas adiZero Rose 2.5, with matching orange colors. Release date is scheduled for 23 February 2012, with retail price in the $100 range.
