Cole Haan - An Opportunity to Buy Shoes, Lots of Them!

August 14, 2012
Ok, here some pretty interesting news. Especially for those out there who love Cole Haan shoes. Lots of them. I mean, really lots and lots of them.

The fact of the matter is that you can buy Cole Haan. The whole company! Nike, the current owner, has put Cole Haan on the block as it looks to narrow its focus. Goldman Sachs is handling the sale process and the Nike unit is expected to fetch in the order of $500m.

Now, that is quite a lot, but you will get plenty of shoes, and will never have to worry about shoe size again.......

ASICS Gets Into the Olympic Spirit

August 14, 2012
The 2012 London Summer Olympics and I for one enjoyed watching the spectacle, especially Team USA asserting its dominance over rising sports power China after a hesitant start. That got me thinking - did our favorite sneaker manufacturers also get on on the act? It turns out that they did, with ASICS delivering a particularly patriotic new offering.

The ASICS Gel-Blur33 2.0 (to give the full official title) not only proudly come in strong Red, White and Blue stripes, but are also manufactured ...

Sketchers Fail To Deliver

June 5, 2012
There was disappointing news recently for this who hoped that certain brands of shoes would miraculously both help a person lose weight and tone certain key body parts just by walking around. Yes, we are talking about YOU Sketchers! You should be ashamed. The FTC investigated the Sketchers claims regarding their Shape-Ups and found them to be false and misleading. the result was a $40 million fine. Well deserved I maintain.

Sketchers Shape-Ups are not the first guilty party in the hope peddlin...

May 2, 2012
Never one to shy away from controversy, famed shoe designed Christian Louboutin opened a museum retrospective of his 20 years in the shoe size game in London. He took time out to share some thoughts with reporters on topics ranging from from his trademark infringement lawsuit to the inspirations for his legendary shoe design career. Nike Should Show More Respect to Adidas

April 30, 2012
A slightly uncomfortable story coming out of the basketball shoe world this past weekend. Whilst we normally like to cover positive new shoe size release stories in this blog, I felt this deserved some brief coverage.

As you probably read, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls suffered a nasty knee injury on the weekend - a torn anterior cruciate ligament, leaving him unavailable for the playoffs. It also looks as if he will miss the USA basketball team for June's London Olympics. Ouch.

To add sign...

This time, in Orlando, over 100 of America's finest were deployed at a mall to contain a crowd awaiting the arrival of the Foamposite Galaxy.
